Key Features of the Ergobaby Aerloom;
- Weight tested from 3.2 kg (7 lb) to 16 kg (35 lb)
- Realistically fits babies from birth to around 12-15 months.
- Made from FormaKnit™ fabric that comprises 87% Recycled Polyester (GRS-Certified), 13% Nylon. This fabric is very lightweight, super breathable, slightly stretchy, strong and durable. It is not the softest material, but the inside is lined with a softer 100% cotton fabric.
- Offers 3 carrying positions (Front inward, Front Outward, and Back carry). This carrier does not offer a hip carry position.
- Toggles at the front make it easy to adjust between inward and outward facing positions.
- Stretchy material hugs baby and stretches as they grow, but as the carrier panel doesn't have a huge amount of adjustability most babies will grow out of this around 12-15 months.
- Features very slimline, contured barely padded straps that offer a rucksack style or H shape carry (straps can not be crossed behind parents back)
- Build in lumbar support pad for parent, which also features a quite hard to reach pocket!
- Designed to fit a wide range of parent shapes and sizes although in reality I find this works best for petite and average sized parents and wouldn't be my first choice for larger or plus sized builds.
The Ergobaby Aerloom is certainly a much lighter carrier than the Ergobaby Omni models, and definitely offers a better fit to very petite parents. However, it is not as long lasting and other carriers such as the Beco Gemini offer the same lightweight benefits at a much lower price! Which makes it hard for me to really recommend this carrier.
